Cornell Cooperative Extension Albany County will be hosting a one-day conference on the production and marketing of grass-fed beef. The Winter Green-up Grass-fed Beef Conference will be held January 31, 2009 from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm at The Century House in Latham NY.
Three nationally known experts in the area of grass-fed beef production will be speaking on topics such as; genetic selection, least cost management systems, reproductive efficiency, marketing, how to manage a forage only production model year round and the meat science of grass-fed beef. The speakers will be Kit Pharo- Colorado rancher, Dr. Allen Williams- Chief Operating Officer, Tallgrass Beef Company, Bill Hodge- Georgia Cattleman, and University of Georgia Extension Beef Specialist, and Kathleen Harris- Director of Northeast Livestock Processing Service Company.
Thanks to the support of our sponsors and trade show vendors, we have been able to price this conference very reasonably at $40.00 per person early registration before December 20, 2008. After December 20, 2008, the price will be $60.00 per person. If you would like to participate as a sponsor/vendor, the cost is $150.00 per table.
