Planners,
As we have mentioned before, the standard for the Vegetated Treatment Area (VTA) - (635) - is a departure from the old Vegetated Filter Strip standard with major implications to both planners and designers. So we have enlisted the primary author of the new standard, Peter Wright, NRCS State Conservation Engineer to provide training to planners.
The training has been scheduled for March 27th at the Cayuga County Soil and Water District Office in Auburn. The session will start at 10 am and will continue to 3 pm with lunch provided. Registration is REQUIRED due to limited seating. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis with preference given to Certified Planners and one (1) attendee from each SWCD office. NRCS and Professional Engineers are also invited to attend as space allows.
We encourage planners to attend this informative session as there will be many new requirements on the citing of the VTA based on soil and their conditions. This is critical in the planning phase of the process.
Please refer to the attached announcement and follow the directions included on how to register.
