Greg is as an Associate Environmental Analyst with with the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets and the NYS Soil and Water Conservation Committee. In this position, he co-manages the Agricultural Environmental Management (AEM) Planner Education and Certification Program in New York State. The program offers nutrient management planners the opportunity to gain and maintain the skills and certification required to develop and certify Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans (CNMPs) with farmers. Greg performs CNMP reviews with planners for initial certification and biennial, quality assurance reviews for re-certification and offers nutrient management support and training opportunities for planners and farmers. He also works with regulators, researchers, and other public and private sector agricultural environmental agents to blend policy and science into tools that planners and farmers can use for agricultural environmental management.


He has been working on applied solutions for agricultural sustainability since 1995. Prior to his current position, he worked as a statewide Extension Associate in Dr. Quirine Kettering's Nutrient Management Spear Program within Cornell's Department of Crop and Soil Sciences and as a regional Field Crops Educator with Cornell Cooperative Extension in Central New York. Greg earned a B.Sc. from Cornell's Department of Biological and Environmental Engineering in 1996 and a M.Sc. from Cornell's Animal Science Department in 2002.
