The Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS) is a nonprofit scientific and educational organization that serves as an advocate for conservation professionals and for science based conservation practices, programs, and policy.


​The Empire State Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society is the New York branch of the Soil and Water Conservation Society. As a nonprofit organization, we are involved in scientific research and educational outreach. We work with academics institutions, landowners, communities and government bodies to achieve the following objectives:

• Enhance the environment
• Promote and advance the science of good land use, water use and management
• Promote the conservation of all natural resources
• Provide a medium of exchange for facts, experience, and thought

Represent, advance, and protect the standards of the science of resource management and conservation
